Sheikh Rasheed accuses Nawaz of delaying tactics in treason case

Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmad on Friday said that the government was using delaying tactics in the treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf until the retirement of three current armed forces chiefs.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House, he said the government wanted to delay the treason case against Musharraf till the retirement of chiefs of all armed forces.

He said that if action against companions of Musharraf was launched, more then 800 persons would be affected.

The AML chief said that action would also be taken against those persons who deceived the Supreme Court.

He criticised the approval of 2013-14 fiscal budget, saying that the government put more pressure on common people by imposing taxes instead of giving benefits the masses.

Shaikh Rashid said that terrorist activities across the country were increasing, adding that the government had no agenda to start talks with militants for maintaining peace and eliminating terrorism from the country.
