The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has advised the Ministry of petroleum and Natural Resources to increase prices of petroleum products by up to Rs 3.66 per litre.
Sources said OGRA had recommended increase in the price of Petrol mostly used in transport by Rs 2.66 per litre and High Speed Diesel (HSD) used in agriculture and industrial sector by Rs 3.66 per litre.
Price of kerosene oil, which is being used as alternate fuel in rural areas where LPG is not available, has been recommended to be increased by Rs 2.50 per litre.
OGRA also recommended increasing the price of light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs 3.04 per litre and High Octane Blended Component (HOBC) by Rs 2.36 per litre.
The source said after the growing trend of petroleum prices in the global market, the government had decided to increase the price of petroleum products.
The new prices will would be implemented from July 1.
