The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) formally applied for the membership of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) here on Thursday.
LUMS possesses the largest business school in the country and has time and again seconded its reputation by maintaining international standards at the institution.
It was LUMS Vice Chancellor Prof Adil Najam who himself being an ardent supporter of UNGC and its principles put forth the idea for the university’s membership. The UNGC sources further express gratitude to International Alert (IA) for facilitating the plan. The membership into the UNGC will not only prompt other institutions to follow suit but it will encourage a more responsible and sustainable business environment in Pakistan.
