Prakash Jha’s next, ‘Satyagraha’, will see Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn teaming up after ‘Aag’ (2007). The movie revolves around the conflicts between a father (Big B) and son (Ajay), set against the backdrop of a mass movement against corruption. Says the director, “This film reflects people’s resentment against corruption and injustice. If we take a look at the headlines that have shaken the nation, we will see that citizens’ power has made all the difference.” Though Amitabh and Ajay have worked together previously, this is the first time they are playing father and son. Says Jha, “Mr Bachchan prepares for his role, while Ajay is spontaneous. Both are a pleasure to work with.” The film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Manoj Bajpayee, Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao. Says Siddharth Roy Kapur, Managing Director, Studios, Disney-UTV, “This film is the voice of the Indian youth, who are courageous enough to stand up for their rights. It is a gritty venture that gives an entertaining insight into the politics of power, love and relationships.” Satyagraha, by Prakash Jha Productions and UTV Motion Pictures, releases August 23.
