Suicide bomber’s jacket explodes on his way to Quetta, two injured

An alleged suicide bomber and a civilian were killed in an explosion in Kuchlak area of Quetta on Thursday.

A police officer who requested not to be named that a suspected suicide bomber was carrying a suicide jacket when he killed in a mysterious blast.

“The suicide bomber was coming to Quetta to cause maximum damage, when his own suicide jacket went off”, he said.

He added that two civilians were initially critically injured. However, one of them succumbed to injuries while being shifted to hospital.

The blast occurred in Kuchlak Bus Stop area.

The other injured man was rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical treatment.

The blast damaged nearby shops and smashed windows of nearby buildings.

Frontier Corps and police personnel rushed to the site as a probe into the incident went underway.

CONTAINERS ATTACKED

Moreover, in another incident, armed militants torched two private containers, which were on their way from Karachi to Quetta, in the Mastung district of Balochistan.

Levies sources that four armed militants opened fire on two private containers in the Dasht Tehsil area of Mastung district. The drivers of both the containers were injured in the attack.

Levies sources added that after opening fire, militants torched the two containers.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Militants have repeatedly targeted Nato supplies in the Dasht Tehsil area of Mastung district.
