Malik holds Musharraf responsible for Benazir Bhutto’s assassination

Former interior minister Rehman Malik on Thursday held former president Pervez Musharraf responsible for assassination of Benazir Bhutto.
Media reports said copy of interim challan presented by FIA in the court in connection with BB’s assassination case contains 76 pages. Malik’s statement, under Section 161, has also been made part of the challan.
Malik said that Musharraf failed in providing foolproof security to Benazir Bhutto due to which Liaqat Bagh incident occurred.
Baitullah Mehsud, Ubaidul Rehman, Abdullah Faiz Ahmad, Ikramullah, Nasrullah and Nadir have been declared proclaimed offenders in the challan.
It was said in the challan that the accused in this case, including Aitzaz Shah, Sher Zaman, Hassnain Gul, Muhammad Rafaqat and Rashid Ahmad, are on judicial remand while Pervez Musharraf, former SP Khurram Shahzad and former CPO Saud Aziz have been granted bail.
The statement of former interior secretary Kamal Shah has also been included in the challan. He has also held Musharraf responsible for not providing security to BB.
The steps taken by the former president have also been declared alien to the constitution in the challan.
It was said that Musharraf declared emergency on November 3, 2007 and kept the judges and their family members in habeas corpus.
