The Islamabad Electric Supply Company has disconnected the power supply of five tube wells in the city which has resulted in acute water shortage in the respective areas. The power supply of tube wells at the Chaklala Scheme and the surrounding areas has been disconnected by the respective authorities due to non-payment of electricity bills. A group of citizens demanded municipal authorities pay the outstanding amount at the earliest so that electricity supply to the tube wells could be restored. According to citizens, they would hold rallies against the termination of their water supply if their demands were not met.
