Islamabad Police on Wednesday produced two alleged terrorists involved in killing of 36 people, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Fareed Khan, before court charging them for carrying illegal weapons only following which they were sent on a 14-day judicial remand.
Usually, on the first hearing when police produces any accused before court, it requests for physical remand to investigate them further. In this case however, police did not request for physical remand of the two high-profile accused claiming that all other cases against them had been registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) thereby putting the onus on KP Police to investigate them for their heinous crimes.
A spokesman of police while talking to Pakistan Today said the police did not request for physical remand of the accused since all murder cases were registered with KP Police. He said there was one registered FIR against them in Islamabad at Sabzimandi Police Station for carrying illegal weapons-an allegation that required no further investigation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) claimed to have arrested killers of 36 people including PTI MPA Fareed Khan, who was shot dead on June 3 in Hangu.
A spokesman for Islamabad Police had said the CIA received information about presence of two terrorists residing in the Tarnol area with fake identities
He said after monitoring their movement and keeping a vigilant eye on them, CIA raided their hideout and arrested them. The accused were identified as Asifullah and Abid Khan, who during preliminary investigation, confessed to their involvement in the murder of Fareed Khan and 35 others.
They sould be hanged to death…..
