The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has devised a new strategy for the monsoon season in order to avoid any inconvenience for the citizens. The plan will be in force during the entire rainy season from July to mid-September.
According to the arrangement, LWMC will work in tandem with the Meteorological Department and will generate rain alerts every six hours.
Furthermore, crews will be deputed to deal with any incidents at choke points such as Garhi Shahu and Lakshmi Chowk, while all officers of the company will work in three shift fin order to maximize efficiency.
LWMC Managing Director Waseem Chaudary further said that the company’s helpline, 1139 will be put on high alert to cater to any problems and cater to complaints swiftly.
