CNG prices likely to rise from 1st

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices are likely to increase by 39 paisas per kilogramme (kg) from July 1 in Region-1 and 46 paisas per kg in Region-2 following the one percent addition in general sales tax (GST).
It is expected that the CNG prices will mount after approval of Finance Bill 2013-14 from the National Assembly and Senate.
Region-1 comprises Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Potohar and Balochistan while Region-2 includes Punjab and Sindh.
Following the increase, CNG price will be Rs 77.54 per kg in Region-1 and Rs 64.44 per kg in Region-2.
The government was collecting an additional 9 percent GST from the CNG sector which was later cancelled by the Supreme Court.
