Approximately 1,000 children were brought to three allied hospitals of Rawalpindi; Benazir Bhutto General Hospital (BBH), Civil Hospital and Holy Family Hospital, from January to June respectively. However, 60 percent affected kids were discharged after being treated while 40 percent are being kept in isolation wards. Holy Family Hospital MS Dr Arshad Ali claimed that 410 out of 543 children infected with measles were admitted while the remaining children were discharged after receiving medical treatment. He further said that the hospital was treating approximately three to four measles patients daily and advised the parents to get their children vaccinated to reduce risk of complication from this disease.
