Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon has turned down the possibility of initiating a Swat-style military operation in Karachi as law and order situated has reached a new crisis.
Sharjeel Memon objected to opposing political parties for their criticism over worsening law and order situation in Karachi and advised them to present effective suggestions to implement peace in the metropolitan city.
The information minister pointed fingers towards Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)and said that prominent political and social personalities including Hakim Muhammad Saeed were killed in Karachi under the governance of PML-N.
Memon questioned why the PML-N had conducted an operation in Karachi if law and order situation was good in the city during their last tenures.
He said that situation in Karachi was different from other cities of the country. He said killings were also happening in Punjab but no one was calling them target killings.
Memon claimed that in Karachi, most terrorists were detained during Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) tenure and killers of MQM’s provincial members Manzar Iman and Raza Haider were also arrested by law enforcement agencies during their tenure.
