Dr Fouzia Siddiqui, sister of Dr Aafia Siddiqui, called on Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday. During the meeting, Dr Fouzia Siddiqui presented various facts relating to incarceration of Dr Aafia Siddiqui in the United States for last several years. She narrated the efforts made by previous governments to get her released from prison. She requested the minister for renewed efforts to secure the release and return of Dr Aafia Siddique from the USA to Pakistan. The minister recalled that he was the first parliamentarian who raised voice in the National Assembly for release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui and called her “Daughter of Pakistan”. The minister said that he would call a special meeting on this issue and assured Dr Fouzia Siddiqui of all possible support and efforts of his government in securing the early release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. Dr Fouzia Siddiqui thanked the minister for taking personal interest in this matter.
