US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson on Friday hosted a media seminar at a local hotel to discuss US-Pakistan joint business opportunities and particularly emphasised on the importance of trade and investment between US and Pakistan, stressing to improve relations through bilateral ties. “With a customer base of around 190 million, Pakistan is a growing market for US companies. We encourage the American and Pakistani corporate sector to work mutually together and explore diverse profitable opportunities,” Olson said. Olson further said the United States was among the largest investors in Pakistan and that Pakistan’s major exports have been to the United States. “The US government sees Pakistan’s prosperity as good for the region and good for the United States,” he added. Ambassador Olson discussed in detail the US-Pakistan Business Opportunities Conference, to be held in Dubai on June 25-26 and looked forward to bright future prospects of cooperative joint business ventures between the two countries, leading to increased business opportunities for local and foreign companies in the corporate sector. He further said the conference would lead to increased bilateral cooperation which would attract foreign investment, boosting the growth of the private sector in Pakistan and leading to exchange of diversified ideas.
