Sadequain’s paintings on Iqbal prettify PC

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated the display of Sadequain’s paintings on Allama Iqbal at the Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel on Friday.
The ceremony also marked the launch of PC’s three other projects in Multan, Peshawar and Mirpur and the second coming of Hashoo Group Chairman Sadruddin Hashwani.
A large number of people including Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, Nayyar Ali Dada and prominent film and television artists were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister stressed on the need to adopt Iqbal’s way of life. He attributed Turkey’s success with the following of Iqbal’s teachings.
Hashoo Group chairman commented on Iqbal’s vision and said that the youth should be made aware of Iqbal’s teachings.
SHAHBAZ WANTS A COMMITTEE ON ENERGY: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed the establishment of a cabinet committee on energy.
While presiding over a high level meeting for controlling energy crisis and launching of power generation projects with alternative sources at Model Town on Friday, the chief minister directed that a report be presented to him after reviewing the solar system set up in the Indian state of Haryana.
Shahbaz expressed his displeasure over the lengthy and irrelevant briefing given by the concerned authorities and sought final recommendations within seven days regarding implementable projects.
Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman, Energy Minister Chaudhary Sher Ali Khan, Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed, Special Assistant Muhammad Arshad Jutt, Advisors Azmul Haq, Dr Ijaz Nabi, the chief secretary, experts and other concerned personnel were present on the occasion.
The chief minister further directed that comprehensive recommendations be submitted to him regarding the projects for generation of energy from traditional as well as alternative sources. He said that speedy progress will be made for launching energy projects from coal, biomass, biogas, solar as well as other sources. He said that work should be started with a focused approach on short, medium and long-term projects.

  1. It is disconcerting that a painting purported to be done by Sadequain is being shown to none other than the chief minister of Punjab. This painting is not done by Sadequain. If it is shown as a copy then fine, otherwise it must be removed.

    • I hear you. However i wouldn't expect anyone in Pakistan to be morally motivated enough to do anything about this. Let's hope the true patrons of art and those not motivated by greed and financial gain can see through the fakes.

  2. Now that there is so much protest on T.V Channels and Newspapers in Pakistan and there is no doubt that Sadequain fakes are on display in a Lahore Hotel, Mr Sadruddin Hashwani should remove them immediately and also apologize to all Art Lovers of Pakistan.
