Sonakshi Sinha is keeping a safe distance from shopping malls these days. No, she is neither suffering from agoraphobia nor has she become an ascetic. It is the star’s zealous fans who have prompted her to take this decision. She has made it clear to her producers that she will not attend any promotional event held in malls. “These days many promotional activities are held at malls . It helps establish a direct connect with the audience. However, it is this ‘direct contact’ Sonakshi wants to avoid . She has informed the makers of Lootera and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara in no uncertain terms that she will not be a part of any such mall visit,” said a friend of the actress. Apparently, this decision comes after the actress was mobbed during one such event last year. Sonakshi confirmed this saying: “I have nothing against malls. But the crowd can get unruly at times and on those occasions even the security guards are of little help. I had a pretty bad experience last year while promoting a film. Moreover, there are many other platforms available to promote a film.” Elaborating on the incident, the friend said, “Call him a fan or a maniac, but this guy not only came too close to the actress but also touched her hair. Sonakshi is still terrified over the incident and has absolutely no intention to put herself in a similar situation any time soon.” Though Balaji, the makers of both her forthcoming films, have tried their best to convince the actress saying that they will ensure a fool-proof security, Sonakshi has stood firm on her grounds. This has forced the production house to shift the venue of the Dubai promotion of Lootera from a mall to a restaurant.
