Islamia College Peshawar students visit Parliament

A group of students and faculty members of the Islamia College Peshawar visited the Parliament House on Friday and observed proceedings of the Senate and National Assembly sessions.

Senate Deputy Secretary Rabea Anwar briefed the members of the delegation about working and performance of the Parliament particularly the Senate including the role played by the Senate in oversight of the executive and its contribution in policy-making.
She apprised the students that the Parliament could debate any issue for legislation, accountability and policy guidance. She also responded to various questions and gave a detailed briefing on the importance of Parliamentary system in nation-building and the role of the Upper House in promoting national cohesion and harmony among the federating units.
Rabea comprehensively answered questions asked by the participants regarding overall working of the Senate, its composition, electoral process and other important aspects. At the end, the delegation thanked the Senate special secretary for cordial and warm welcome extended to them during their visit.

  1. Probably such kind of the events usually come and go but law and order situation of the country must remained improved than previous. On the other hand, educational background of the country must also be so strong.
