A three-member SC bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, took up the case for hearing.

Dr Babar Awan and Riaz Kayani appeared in person while Anwar Shamim represented Munir Paracha and Agha Rafiq from the Law Ministry.

The inquiry report conducted by Justice (r) Jaffri was presented and the court ordered that the report be made public.

The hearing of the case was adjourned for one week.

The PML-N central leader and now federal minister, Khawaja Asif had filed an application in the SC seeking investigations into the Nandipur Power Project.

The court had formed a commission under Justice (r) Jaffri to conduct a judicial inquiry into the project. The commission filed its report with SC on conclusion of the inquiry.
