Police arrest 30 suspects; impound several vehicles

Islamabad police on Thursday arrested 32 suspects and 30 other outlaws from across the city and also impounded 23 vehicles as well as 145 motorcycles during a general hold-up in the city, a police spokesman said.
According to the details, Inspector General Bani Amin Khan and Islamabad SSP Yaseen Farooq directed all zonal officers, SDPOs and SHOs to keep a vigilant eye on the mischievous elements, tighten duty at police posts and enhance patrolling and security measures in different areas of the city.
Aabpara police arrested three accused Nasir Mehmood, Fayyaz and Ajmal for having illegal gas cylinders in their vans.
Kohsar police arrested Saeed, Arshad Masih and recovered three wine bottles as well as one 44-bore rifle from their possession.
Bhara Kahu police arrested Jamal Asif, Raza, Faisal and a female, Seher, for their alleged involvement in immoral activities.
Shalimar police arrested Afzal and seized a 9mm pistol, while Golra police apprehended Tariq, Islam, Shahzad and Bismallah Khan for having illegal gas cylinders in their vans. Anti-car lifting cell arrested Taj Muhammad and impounded car (DX-8700) from him. Tarnol police arrested accused Riaz and seized a 30-bore pistol from him.
Ramna police arrested Deewan Shahid and Liaqat Ali besides recovering a car (MJ-899) and 120 gram heroin from them. Women police station arrested Jarg Masih and seized nine wine bottles from him.
Sabzi Mandi police nabbed Arif, Nasir and Ibrahim for having illegal gas cylinders in their vehicles. Another accused Waqas was arrested for having 10 cans of beer while five gamblers Allah Rakha, Kabal Shah, Naeem Khan, Wasla Khan and Jawad were also apprehended besides recovery of stake money from them.
Koral police arrested two accused Saleem Ahmed and Nazir Hussain for having illegal gas cylinders in their vehicles. Sihala police nabbed Iqbal for having 110 gram of heroin.
In general hold up during last 24 hours, Islamabad police impounded 23 vehicles and 145 motorbikes being driven without documents. Tinted windows from 56 vehicles were removed 32 suspects were arrested during search operation. The actual aim of this general hold-up and search operation is to maintain law and order situation in the capital and to curb the criminals’ activities. The IG has further directed to enhance security in their respective areas and curb activities of anti-social elements.
