Pakistan to honour gas pipeline project: Abbasi

Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday said the government would respect the agreement of gas pipeline with Iran that was signed by the former government.
He assured to work with Iran on the project of gas pipeline according to the agreement.
Media reports said that the country which would delay the project would have to pay fine according to the agreement whether it would be Iran or Pakistan, Abbasi cleared.
“The fine mentioned in agreement is not only for Pakistan but also applies on Iran,” he added.
The minister said that if Iran would delay the project it would have to pay $35 million daily, if Pakistan delayed the project it would also have to pay $30 million daily.
Abbasi said that the date of fine against any delay is December 31, 2014 mentioned in the agreement.

  1. We are listening from many years that there is project between Iran and Pakistan on gas pipeline, and it had not started yet. This project should start as early as possible otherwise he mentioned the fine and current situation of Gas in our country is not very good.

      Why is he talking about Iran paying fine …
      As far as I know, Iran's side of the pipeline is already complete …

    • They r just passing time , becoz of tremendous pressure from Saudi Arabia and USA. Their line runs like this. "Dont stop the project, and after sometime run a campaign against this project by hiring Columnists and anchors who wud run Talkshows on stupidity of this pipeline. Then after sometime when public opinion is diluted, project will be shelved off."

  3. pakistani kanjar politicians will beg donations from usa and end this project….there is 2 ways to bring pakistan on its feet 1. end democracy and bring shria system and 2nd kick out usa from asia .why there is protests going on only in islamic countries?coz united states controlling them..why there is no protest in iran?just think about it shameless pakistani kanjar politicians and media
