The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz on Wednesday suspended party membership of lawmaker Nighat Sheikh who slapped a bus hostess.
Issuing show cause notice to Nighat Sheikh, PML-N Provincial Secretary Raja Ishfaq Sarwar suspended her party membership and sought written explanation in next 72 hours of manhandling of a bus hostess.
In a statement, Sarwar said if Sheikh was found guilty she would be sacked. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also taken notice and vowed to inquire into matter.
Meanwhile, police prepared a report of the manhandling.
The report has been sent to Shahbaz Sharif. The report declared bus hostess Iqra Nawaz innocent and held Sheikh responsible for the incident. The Bhera SHO has been called to account. The report read that no passenger of the bus attested to the charges levelled by Sheikh against Iqra Nawaz, saying it was Nighat Sheikh that humiliated the bus hostess and tortured her.
PML-N MPA Nighat Sheikh slapped a bus hostess for not serving water, a TV channel reported on Sunday.
