Pakistan’s former captain and ex chief executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board Majid Jahangir Khan is the front runner of the three candidates suggested to take over as the interim chairman of the PCB.
A Pakistan government lawyer says former captain Majid Khan is likely to be the acting chairman of the PCB.
Lawyer Irfanullah informed Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddique that commentator Chishtie Mujahid and former chief of the Federal Board of Revenue Mumtaz Haider Rizvi are the other two candidates.
Irfanullah also informed the judge that the names have been forwarded to prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who will select the winning candidate.
Last month, Siddique suspended Zaka Ashraf, terming his election as PCB chairman “polluted” after a petition filed by a former cricket official from Rawalpindi.
Siddique asked the government to appoint a new PCB chairman by end of this week and inform the court on June 24.
Mighty Majid seems to be better choice under the circumstances. Khan Sb is well known for his integrity, discipline and competence.
highly arrogant, introverted and out for mainstream cricket for decades now.however,if worst comes to worst,he could be better than ijaz but and zaka ashraf
A jilted lover?
Majid khan name and selection is to counter Imran Khan. Sharif brothers are going to do everything possible to reduce the influence of IK.
If we want cricket to be free from corruption and indiscipline, than Majid Khan is the only person who can achieve this.
But the problem is they do not want any of the things you mention.
