Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) has said that those who staged the drama of a separate Saraiki province have been wiped out in the general elections.
He expressed these views while talking to the assembly members belonging to Dera Ghazi Khan division at Model Town on Monday.
The chief minister said that people had given mandate to rid them of energy crisis, corruption, poverty, unemployment and other problems. He said that the secret of development and prosperity of the country lies in a soft revolution. He said that he will bring revolution through solid economic policies and march forward by fixing our priorities.
Addressing the assembly members, Shahbaz said that maintenance of law and order and provision of justice to the people are top priorities of Punjab government. He said that 500 new sub inspectors will be recruited through Public Service Commission on merit and after special training they also be imparted training Elite School and then posted at various stations.
Shahbaz said that special attention would be paid to provision of potable water for saving the people from diseases and process of provision of free medicines in the hospitals of the province would continue.
The chief minister said that government officers will have to become Khadim of the masses. He said that efficient, hard working and those officers showing best performance regarding public service would be encouraged while there is no room for officers in any department not taking interest in public service.
The chief minister said that the policy of simplicity and austerity will be implemented strictly. He said that 30 percent expenditure of Chief Minister’s office is being curtailed and the ban on purchase of new vehicles would continue.
Provincial ministers and assembly members said that people of South Punjab still remember the services of Shahbaz rendered during flood. They said that they will play the role of vanguard for resolving peoples’ problems and eliminating corrupting from the province. Assembly members informed the Chief Minister about development projects and problems of their respective areas.
