- Water supply increased to cater shortage
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Sunday increased the water supply up to 2 million gallons daily for citizens.
Details said that this increase has reduced complaints from 900 to 650 per day.
The remaining shortage would be reduced using 30 water tankers.
CDA Engineering Member Sanullah Aman said that water from the Simbly Dam has been increased to 34 million gallons from 32 because the dam’s water level was 2,298 feet. He added that the dam had sufficient water to last till Novemebr 2013.
The city’s water supply totals 70 million gallons which includes water from tube-wells, while Khanpur Dam alone provides seven million gallons.
