Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani has said the army is fully configured and prepared to thwart any military aggression against the country.
Kayani and Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt on Saturday attended the concluding session of the Army War Games (Exercise AZM-E-NAU 4), which commenced at the National Defence University, Islamabad on June 3. The war game was attended by a large number of officers of Pakistan Army, Navy and PAF.
“During the war game, spanning over two weeks, strategic and operational plans were crystallised and validated for developing a comprehensive response,” read an ISPR statement on Sunday.
Operational plans of Pakistan Air Force were also finalised in close coordination with the army. This war game was the culmination of series of such exercises, which have cumulatively contributed towards operational preparedness to meet the evolving threat.
While addressing the participants, General Kayani reiterated the Pakistan Army’s resolve to meet all future challenges squarely.
“He stated that the Army in coordination with the Navy and PAF is fully configured and prepared to thwart any military aggression against the country. He also added that the military success depended on being fully prepared, support of the people of Pakistan and other state institutions,” the statement read.

  1. Services of of our armed forces are commendable in that they have successfully kept at bay a much larger enemy, India, despite being vastly outnumbered and out-gunned. It would be good to have excellent, friendly relations with India but chances for that seem rather slim, because of India's unwillingness to solve the core issues like Kashmir, water and many smaller ones.

However, it comes as a bit of shock that our forces are not moving fast enough in the field of drones, which could be very useful in the war against terrorists, especially in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, in addition to their great utility in modern-day warfare.

From what I know, and I don't know a lot, we have small, unarmed drones, fit for surveillance operations on a small scale, whereas what we need are armed versions, with much larger range.

We could get t armed drones from China, or Iran, which claims to have built these, or from other sources: there are plenty of countries now producing these.

Armed drones will definitely increase the capability of our forces in their fight against militants and terrorists, while at the same time help in minimizing casualties.

It is definitely time to get proficient with drones,
