LHC moved against LDA DG’s appointment

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday accepted the petition moved by Ahad Cheema against appointment of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General for hearing.
When the court resumed hearing of the case, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that Ahad Cheema was officer of Grade 19 but he had been appointed on the post which demanded an officer of Grade 20. He deemed the step illegal and unconstitutional.
The petitioner prayed the court this appointment should be declared null and void without any delay. The court has sought an explanation from the Punjab government within a week.
