Downpour kills ten people in Lahore

Torrential rain killed as many as 10 people across the city.
According to details, a man and his two children were killed and four others injured when a roof of a house caved in Chungi Amarsidhu, Gulshan Colony.
Police said 45-year-old Muhammad Abbas along with his family members was asleep when the roof caved in. As a result, all family members were buried under the debris.
Rescuers reached the scene and found Abbas and his children six-year-old son Waseem and four-year-old daughter Kiran dead.
His wife, two daughters and a son were injured and rushed to the Lahore General Hospital.
Separately, in Singhpura’s Shola Chowk area seven people were trapped under the debris after the roof of a house caved in. In Hadyara village’s Burki Road area the roof of a house caved in, injuring three people. Another three people were injured after the roof of the Punjab Small Industry collapsed. The injured were rushed to a hospital.
Meanwhile, two people were injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Shah Jamal area. Rescue 1122 officials reached the scene and shifted them to a nearby hospital.
Three people each were injured in Jallo Mor and Shahpur Kanjaran areas in rain-related incidents. Rescue officials rushed them to various hospitals.
