The monsoon is fast approaching but the Rawalpindi and Chaklala Cantonment Boards have yet to start desalinating the nullahs in their areas.
These nullahs are filled with mud and if the monsoon brings heavy rains, they will likely overflow and flood the surrounding markets and houses.
Residents said that they had spoken to the boards’ Complaints Cells but the authorities had not taken any action.
The residents demanded of the Cantt. Boards’ heads to immediately start the nullahs’ desalination.
