The government of Japan will extend loans of Rs 3,920 million to the Punjab government during fiscal year 2013-14 for irrigation, water supply and drainage projects. According to the Finance Ministry documents, Japan will lend Rs 900 million for Lower Chenab System Rehabilitation Project during the next year. During the coming year, the Punjab government will also get Rs 20 million for Lahore water supply, sewerage and drainage improvement project and Rs 3,000 million for improvement of irrigation system in the province.
