Youth should pray for Imran Khan for incentives in budget: Shujaat

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Senator Shujaat Hussain on Wednesday said the youth should pray for Imran Khan because the government tried to copy him by announcing incentives for them.
He said Imran Khan had announced many programmes for the youth and the government has fulfilled part of that in the budget.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar criticised the federal government for increasing General Sales Tax (GST) from 16 to 17 percent.
He said that the GST should have been brought down to 16 percent.
Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said the government had broken promise regarding elimination of power crisis within six months.
He said the PPP would try to press the government over changing the name of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
Defence Production Minister Rana Tanveer congratulated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar for presenting a balanced, pro-poor and people-friendly budget.
Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbassi Wednesday said the government started new journey for development, prosperity and presented a balanced and realistic budget despite shortage of time.
Talking to a TV anchor, PTI leader Shireen Mazari said the focus of the budget was on indirect taxes which was evident with the increase in sales tax. “This is a businessman’s budget and will increase burden on the ordinary man,” she added.
