Pakistan’s trade deficit has significantly shrunk by 3.89 per cent to $18.689 billion during July-May 2012-13 against $19.446 billion in same period of 2011-12. It witnessed a decline on the back of a continuous fall in imports and robust growth in exports during the period under review, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The exports stood at $22.322 billion during eleven month of 2011-13, registering an increase of 3.89 per cent when compared it with corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year. The imports in the country grew by 0.19 percent to $41.011 billion from $40.933 billion during the period under view.
