The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to file a petition in the court to get an FIR registered against PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi for his alleged involvement in murder of PTI worker Usman Mirza.
Mirza was shot dead on May 11 in Rawalpindi. PTI sources said that Rawalpindi police did not mention the name of Hanif Abbasi in the FIR as main accused. “We have video footages, which show Hanif Abbasi sitting at his election office in Rehmanabad and giving instructions to his supporters, who were quarreling with PTI workers. We will provide this evidence before the court to book Abbasi as main accused,” a source said.
The New Town police have already registered an FIR in which Abbasi’s name is not mentioned.
Mirza was killed during a clash between PTI and PML-N supporters in Rehmanabad, where PTI workers were celebrating victory of their leader.
Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday visited Mirza’s family. It was his first activity as he directly went to Mirza’s home from Airport to pray for the departed soul.
“We will not leave any stone unturned to bring culprits to the book,” Imran Khan told reporters.
The PTI chairman said Mirza, the only earning hand for his family, was killed for his firm commitment with the PTI and its agenda.
“We will watch developments closely and seek justice at all cost,” Imran Khan reaffirmed.
Imran Khan also said that he decided to retain NA-56 only due to his party worker’s martyrdom.
PTI senior leader Zahid Kazmi told Pakistan Today that the party had decided to move court against Mirza’s killing. He said that the PTI’s lawyer wing is working on the petition. Regarding Imran Khan’s oath, Kazmi said the PTI chief would take oath in the next session of the National Assembly. To a question, Kazmi said that in his maiden speech on the floor of the House, besides highlighting other issues, Imran Khan would talk on massive rigging in the general elections.
Imran Khan is absolutely right to take the matter to Court and also involve Police who failed to register FIR against Abbassi PML N as a party is not keeping to its promises made before elections and a killing of PTI worker is a brutal killing and no way should this matter be rested Culprits must be punished by the law. Good Luck Imran Khan Glad to see you back in best form.
IT IS WONDERFUL TO SEE IMRAN KHAN BACK IN ACTION AND LET US ALL EXTEND HIM OUR WELCOME AND BEST WISHES. GOOD LUCK GOD BLESS THE TRUE LEADER OF PAKISTAN
He kept his seat as this was the least secured one, don't play politics with poor worker's death.
