The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday announced that the party would observe a day of mourning across the country today (Friday) against the killing and abduction of its workers.

Addressing a press conference, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, member of MQM Rabitta Committee, said party sector and zonal offices are being “besieged”.

He said eight MQM workers were still missing, adding that they were arrested by Rangers and men in plain clothes.

He appealed to human right organisations and the chief justice to take notice of the situation.

The MQM leader also asked the traders community to shut their business voluntarily in solidarity with their protest.

He said black flags would be hoisted at MQM offices on Friday (today).
