The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday took notice of an acid throwing incident on two women in Jampur.
Zahida’s brother, Tatarwala resident, told the police that the accused, Ahmad, would beat his step mother Zahida if she refused to give him money. On one such day, Ahmed brought two men to his house, beat Zahida and her sister Anila, threw acid on them and fled. The injured were taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital and later to Nishtar Hospital in Multan. Both the women suffered 50 percent burns.
A Multan D&SJ has been directed to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments. The police have registered a case but the accused have not been arrested so far.
According to police, Ahmad is a drug addict and the incident happened due to a property dispute between the assailant and the step-mother.
