The Petroleum and Natural Resources Ministry has sought explanation from Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) Managing Director Masood Siddiqui for his arbitrary acts.
The MD is receiving salary of Rs 1,200,000 per month, arbitrarily got his salary raised by Rs 500,000 per month and rented a bullet-proof vehicle for Rs 1,200,000 per month.
According to documents available, Siddiqui was appointed as the OGDCL MD on contract basis with his salary and perks approved and fixed in his contract agreement by the PM on the recommendations of petroleum and finance ministries which includes salary of Rs 1.25 million, house rent at 45 percent of the salary, two 1600CC company maintained cars and bonuses.
Later, without any approval from the ministry, Siddiqui got his salary arbitrarily raised by Rs 500,000 per month in utter violation of his contract agreement. He also claimed and received Rs 2,000,000 as four months arrears.
The story of making luxuries at the national exchequer not ended here, Siddiqui issued order to give undue benefit to one of his blue-eyed subordinate, HR Manager, Akhtar Hussain Shah fixing his pension Rs 200,000 per month.
When the senior official of the ministry knew about the state of affairs they came into action and sought explanation from Siddiqui.
The OGDCL Finance Department MD declared arbitrary acts of Siddiqui complete violation of rules and regulations.
I know him since long but met him only once in his present position i.e. MD OGDCL. I was shocked to evaluate him as more immatured at a very responsible post. We were five (5) senior retired officers appeared before him to restore the pension rules recently approved by BoDs from the date interim arrangements were made. The answer of MD was "you go to the court I shall hire a costly Advocate which you cannot efford and in this way you will loose and I shall win." He was briefed by his PS to treat us in this way. Later on same PS has retired with unimaginable benefits as pointed out by audit and ministry. So he is habitual for such violations. Let us pray, may God save OGDCL.
Mr. Masood Siddiqui (MD OGDCL) is a honest man and in future OGDCL can never get like the same person forever. 40% pay package for officers become with the complete personal efforts of Mr. Sdddiqui and others long out standing pending issues have been resoled in the tenure of Masood Siddiqui.
I wish he is the most desirable pereson in OGDCL. Inshallah Siddiqui will be coming again.

@ Iftikhar Ahmad can you tell us the merit at which more than 2000 inductions were made by his Excellency Mr. Masood Siddiqui in the capacity of MD OGDCL.
