Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has welcomed India’s interest for enhancing cooperation in power sector in Pakistan.
Talking to a high-level Indian delegation for power and gas sectors in Lahore, the chief minister said Pakistani experts would visit India in this regard.
Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gopal Baglay, Ministry for Electricity Joint Secretary Rita Acharia, Ministry for Petroleum and Gas Joint Secretary PK Sanga and others technocrats held a meeting with Shahbaz Sharif and agreed to cooperate with each other particularly in electricity and energy sectors.
Shahbaz said that both the countries could move forward by boosting relations in finance, economy and trade sectors.
The meeting reviewed projects for installing transmission power line from Amritsar to Lahore and lying gas pipeline from Jalandhar to Jaloo. The Indian delegation informed Shahbaz about the projects being launched between the two countries.
Shahbaz said the projects and financial ties between India and Pakistan would benefit the masses. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be informed about useful proposals given in the meeting.
