Preparation of 768,000 passports ends backlog: DG

Passport and Immigration Director General (DG) Zulifqar Cheema on Tuesday said 768,000 passports had been prepared, which had ended the backlog.

“Fifty thousand passports of pilgrims had been sent to relevant stations,” he added.

According to a private TV channel, he said the Passport and Immigration Office had prepared 182,000 passports for overseas Pakistanis, adding that the office would issue passports against urgent fees within a week, adding that passports against normal fees would be issued within a month. He was of the view that steps were being taken to improve the performance of the Passport and Immigration Office.
