It seems that the PML-N government has decided not to pursue the most significant project for the country at the moment, the Iran-Pakistan (IP) Gas pipeline, as no allocation has been made in this regard in the budgetary proposals made for the fiscal 2013-14.
It was being predicted since long that the PML-N government would abandon the IP gas pipeline project under immense pressure from the US and Saudi Arabia, who are opposing any future collaboration with the Iranian government.
The project had been effectively pursued by President Asif Ali Zardari though. On March 11, defying repeated warnings from the US, Zardari visited Cahbahar in Iran to inaugurate the project near Iran Shehr, an Iranian city bordering Pakistan, where President Mahmood Ahmedinejad was also present.
However, no allocation has been made in the four ongoing projects of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources in the budget 2013-14. Rs 50 million had been allocated for the four ongoing schemes but not a single penny has been kept for the IP gas pipeline.
Moreover, the Planning and Development ministry has also not allocated any amount for the IP gas pipeline project.
Though Rs 125,658.646 million has been earmarked for 12 ongoing and six new schemes, the IP gas pipeline project is not included.
This pipeline unfortunately has no chance, (even known to an average Pakistani), of being constructed as US (and Saudi Arabia) will not let that happen. Zardari's move in this connection in haste at the end of his party's term was a devious move as his usual. He mischievously created this problem for Nawaz Sharif. Damn it if you do it, damn it if you don't.
IF ITS A DAMN AT ALL, THEN DO IT PLZ
The Pipeline is important to Pakistan and should be important to Nawaz Sharif Government. I pray that NS fully fund this project to take advantage of cheap gas and neighborly relations.
It was a non-starter from the beginning both financially as well as politically. There is no money to build the project. There is no money to operate it if ever built. US or Saudis are not going to like Pakistan's leaning towards Iran. Then the Baloch are not on board. Projects require peace for building as well as operation.
If Pakistan does not complete IP gas pipeline, Pakistanis will continue to live in darkness… Wake up without Electricity, Sleep without Electricity, Study without Electricity. Pakistan does not has any other option. Dams will 8 years with 11 Billion Dollar Investment. Thar Coal will take 3 to 4 years with 3 Billion Dollar Investment. Only Iran Pak Gas Pipeline will take 1 to 2 years with 1 Billion Investment. Without IP gas pipeline, solving energy crisis is impossible. Even if Nawaz Sharif or PML N wants to abandon this IP pipeline, They will not be able to abandon it. If they abandon IP gas pipeline, Pakistani people will not forgive them in next elections. Pakistani leaders are GEEDADHS ( JACKALS ) infront of US.
Indian leaders had the gutts to tell the US on its face that We Indians need Iranian Oil & We WILL BUY IT. AND WE ARE BUYING IT.
ibtida e ishq hai rota hai kya….

Pakistan should export gas from Turkmenistan via Afghanistan that's more cheaper and easy .
What is wrong with us, we should give the credit to those who deserve it. The PPP Govt was pursuing it since a few years. These types of projects don't just happen. You need to do feasibilities, a lot of diplomacy needs to be done, funding needs to be channelled, people need to be convinced, tariffs needs to be negotiated so on so forth. Hats off to Zardari for diligently following it and getting it kick started. Now, it's just a matter of laying the pipeline.
pipe line construction requires money and there is none. good bye pipe line.

Its got nothing to do with anyone, Pakistan is not an independent country as some may think to believe. Pakistan was created by the British as a thorn in India and Russia's rose tree. Pakistan is just a play ground for the rich and oversea's citizen. Please for god sake try to get a 2nd nationality so that your future's can be bright and you can have true freedom of movement ( USA, Canada or UK) don't believe any Muslim country i.e Saudi or Dubai gov. can give you that as you are considered dogs in Muslim countries but equal citizens in non Muslim states, I know its had to believe but its the truth. Taliban now you can eat your cake because you are so wrong!
