The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday took notice of the murder of a three-year-old child who was killed after cutting his ears, nose and lips in Deepalpur.
The Okara district & sessions judge (D&SJ) has been directed to probe the matter and submit a detailed report on steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
Ali Haider, son of a labourer Muhammad Asghar, resident of Ratta Khanna, was playing in the street when an unidentified person enticed him to a nearby place. The accused chopped his ears, nose and lips after allegedly abusing and fled. When his mother reached the spot, she found him in a critical condition. The child was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Deepalpur but he could not survive.
The police registered a case when the incident was reported in the media. The LHC Complaint Cell took serious notice of the news and directed the D&SJ to look into the matter and submit a report within a week.
