India call violation of Pakistan airspace ‘technical’

India on Wednesday confirmed that its jets had entered Pakistani airspace, but described the incident as a “technical violation”.

The comments come after Pakistan on Tuesday accused Indian jets of briefly violating its airspace, days after India said one of its soldiers had been killed by Pakistani troops.

The jets were taking part in a routine mission along the India-Pakistan border on Tuesday when the incident occurred, Indian Air Force (IAF) spokeswoman Priya Joshi said.

“It is clarified that IAF aircraft which were on a routine flying training sortie seem to have flown close to the border and it appears to be a technical violation,” Joshi said.

She said the incident had been “conveyed to the Pakistan authorities”.

An agreement between the rival South Asian neighbours bans their military aircraft from flying within 10 kilometres (six miles) of each other’s airspace or initiate cross-border intrusions.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office said in a statement on Tuesday that it had “conveyed serious concern to the Indian High Commission (embassy) over the airspace violation” over its eastern province of Punjab.

Pakistan scrambled two fighter jets after the border crossing by two Indian planes.

  1. Well then, shooting them down would have been a simple technical matter also.

PAF, we expect you to be more robust in defence of the fatherland

  2. Technical violation ?.What a joke.Today where navigation system is very advanced and there is no chance of misleading so how it can be technical violation.Seems like India testing PAF alertness and response time. But India should void adventures because its not in favor of both countries.

    • Technical advancement needs competence to apply it. Seems like the poor pilots lacking this ability.

  3. Look at the brighter side, atleast they accepted it. Had it been PAF, ISPR would've issued a denial right away.

    • Yeah when it comes to India, its a technical violation but if it had been Pakistan in their air space,Indians would have been whining for weeks, cry babies.

      • Learn to argue, dumb00000.
Every otherday you cowards open fire at border, and than deny.
YOu are too shameless. No country deny as many allegatins as you p0rkis. India should never entertain you 2 bit j0kers.

  5. WHAT TECHNICAL ? ARE INDIAN AIR FORCE PILOTS STUPID AND BLIND? INDIA MUST EXPRESS ITS APOLOGIES OVER THIS RUBBISH INCIDENT AND ASSURE PAKISTAN THAT IN FUTURE NO SUCH STUPID STORY WOULD BE REVISED,OTHERWISE ALL THE RESPONSIBILITIES ON INDIA S WHATEVER THE WORSE SITUATION ARISES.PAKISTAN MUST STRONGLY PROTEST OVER THIS RUBBISH INCIDENT.INDIA MUST KNOW IN SPITE OF POLITICAL DIFFERENCES AMONG POLITICAL ARENA,BUT THE WHOLE UNITEDLY DEFENSE ITS TERRITORIAL SPACE AT ANY COST AND WE WILL REPLY IN THE BETTER WAY.

  6. ahahhahah Reply better way ??????
You can only run proxy war, nothing else. Insurgency suits your violent mentality. You can not fight an overt war with India.

    • Oh dear. Until I read this reply from you, I actually thought you had a brain.

      Proxy war ? Really?

  7. Btw, before someone talks about shooting down Indian jets, what happened in the drones issue? Is that a even more bigger violation of your country’s airspace and wasnt the new govt supposed to shoot them down?

  8. Well then, shooting them down would have been a simple technical matter also.

PAF, we expect you to be more robust in defence of the fatherland .
