Peace activist and convener of Peshawar Aman Tehrik Idrees Kamal who lost his last breath at Quetta was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard at village Tarkha of Nowshehra district on Tuesday evening.
The funeral prayer for Kamal was attended by hundreds of people from different walks of life. A number of friends from Balochistan including high ranking civil officer Ayaz Mandokhel accompanied the transportation of his body from Quetta. Civil society organisation members, political activists and lawyers also attended his funeral
Kamal, besides serving Peshawar Aman Tehrik was also provincial information secretary of National Party headed by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baluch. He was also chief of Citizens Rights and Sustainable Development (CRSD).
Aimal Khattak, an active member of Civil Society Organization Network, announced special condolence conference at Peshawar Press Club next Friday at 2 pm. The participants will highlight Kamal’s contribution. A similar conference will be arranged in Islamabad shortly.
