School Assessment for School Improvement (SASI), an ILM Ideas initiative implemented by the Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) was launched on Monday for the educational development of low-cost schools in Pakistan.

Armed with the objective of transforming Pakistan’s educational landscape through the advancement of quality education, it seeks to become the first rigorous evaluation and monitoring mechanism for low-cost schools in the country.

The event was attended by notable government officials, school administrators, solution providers and speakers who discussed the education crisis in the country and the need for a program like SASI.

The event also enabled school administrators to independently explore innovative education and microfinance products displayed by service providers that best suited their unique needs in the marketplace.

ITA Chairperson Dr. Narmeen Hamid gave the welcome remarks stating, ‘SASI is an innovative initiative, a new direction for ITA in which along with the promotion of education, quality standards for low-cost schools are targeted.”
