Another 5 killed in Karachi violence

Another five people lost their lives on Tuesday in separate incidents in Karachi.
According to police, a man, identified as Noman, was shot dead near a shopping centre in Shah Faisal Colony.
In Lyari, two people were gunned down while another sustained injuries in a firing incident. The deceased were identified as Naveed alias Ghangro and Naushad alias Police Wala while the injured was identified as Bilal.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
In another incident, Muhammad Kasah was gunned down near Lucknow Society in the Korangi Crossing area.
In Manghopir, a girl, identified as Nazia, was stabbed to death. According to police, the girl was allegedly killed by her husband.
Another man was shot injured in Purana Golimar.
Police cordoned off the area on a tip and seized arms and ammunition. Seven suspects were also arrested during the raid.
Separately, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain demanded that the government take notice of law and order situation in Lyari.
In a statement, he said the clashes never entail good results, adding no such action should be taken on regional, ethnic and sectarian basis that could benefit the anti-state forces.
Expressing sympathy with the family members of the deceased and the injured, Altaf demanded that the government take steps for the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
