The government has decided to impose a ban on import of luxury Mercedes cars in the next budget, it was revealed on Sunday.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will announce this decision in the upcoming budget 2013-14. Ishaq Dar had imposed a similar ban during his previous term in office, but the ban was lifted during the tenure of Pervez Musharraf and four chief ministers of the provinces had imported Mercedes vehicles paying no duty and taxes.

“Now the finance minister has again taken the decision to ban the import of Mercedes cars in the next budget,” a senior FBR official told local media. The government is also going to propose increased income tax rates for Association of Persons (AoPs) and high bracket income slabs.

  3. There is a need to cut expenses as said by PM Nawaz in today's Cabinet meeting, so if they use local vehicles for their travelling then what's a shame in it?. A Head should live the same life as led by the people of his empire.

  4. Audi AG (NSU) delivered more cars than Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW)’s namesake brand via the first two months of 2014 to nab the international lead in luxurious revenue.
Audi distributed 242,400 autos for February, 383 above the BMW company, as per data from the German automakers. Simultaneously not too long ago, Audi trailed BMW, which has been No. 1 in the section for 9 consecutive years, by 429 vehicles.
The Volkswagen AG (VOW) brand’s profits signal a tightening race for the headline of the world’s most important manufacturer of superior autos. Mercedes-Benz, the global No. 3, is growing at a more rapidly speed in modern months as compared to its 2 bigger contenders. Almost all 3 vow to keep the high-class sales crown after the end of the decade.
