Sikh pilgrims see better Pak-India relations

About 400 Indian Sikh Yatrees arrived on Saturday at the Wahga railway station by a special train to observe the 407th death anniversary of Guru Arjun Dev Jee (Jore Mela).
Khalid Ali, Secretary Shrine Evacuee Trust Property Board (BTPB), Sardar Sham Singh, president Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), and other officials received them warmly at the Wahga railway station.
The government had made foolproof security arrangements besides immigration, customs, bank and medical facilities at the Wahga railway station to facilitate the pilgrims.
Talking to reporters, group leader Sardar Rampal Singh Bhaniwal hoped bilateral relations between Pakistan and India under the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would improve and hoped that both governments would take steps for the welfare of their nations.
He appreciated arrangements by ETPB to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims in Pakistan. Soon after arrival, the Sikh pilgrims left for Nankana Sahib where they will stay for two days and perform religious rituals. They will leave for Sucha Sauda, Farooqabad, on June 10 and return to Nankana Sahib on the same day.
On June 11, the Sikh pilgrims will leave for Punja Sahib Hassanabad and stay there for three days to perform religious rituals. On June 13, they will go to Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore.
On June 15, they will visit Aimanabad and Kirtarpur and return to Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore on the same day. During their stay in Gurdwara Dera Sahib, the pilgrims will perform religious ceremonies.
The Sikh yatrees will go back to their country on June 17.
