Portable water has become a distant dream for the residents of Shah Jamal and Icchra.
“We are passing through a very hard time due to the unavailability of water. Most of the times we don’t have water to drink,” Nadeem, a resident of Fazlia Colony, said.
“Despite the fact that generator runs on a daily basis with an expenditure of millions of rupees,” he said, adding that water in Fazlia Colony WASA tube-well was supplied wilfully to the posh areas of Jamia Ashrafia and Shadman in connivance with the WASA high-ups.
Residents said the acute shortage of water meant residents could not even take baths in such hot weather.
Another resident, Ashfaq, said water bills came without any delay but water seldom came through the pipelines. “Most of the time I take bath with a very little quantity of water” he said. The residents said WASA high-ups had no fear apathy and were forcing people to live without water. They said that they had complained to the concerned SDO and EX-EN, but to no avail.
They urged the CM to take notice of the issue immediately.
