Dejected Kasuri keeping options open

Disgruntled former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fauzia Kasuri is keeping her options open after resigning from her parent party including an alleged lucrative offer from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to contest on NA-48 by-polls, a seat vacated by PTI President Javed Hashmi.
However, Kasuri neither denied, nor accepted having received the offer from PML-N when contacted by Pakistan Today.
Talking to Pakistan Today, Kasuri said she had revoked her dual nationality and therefore had wide options in the political field. She confirmed that she had been contacted by several political parties with various portfolios. She further said she had also been contacted by some civil organisations and non-government organisations (NGOs) and there were many options she was currently weighing. However, she appeared oblivious to reports that she was going to be fielded as PML-N candidate for National Assembly (NA) NA-48 constituency of the federal capital, where PTI will most probably field Asad Umar to defend Hashmi’s victory in the May 11 polls. She asserted that she had not taken a decision on her future as yet and was keeping her options open at the moment.
PML-N has been reportedly actively pursuing Fauzia Kasuri ever since there had been reports of a rift between Kasuri and her former party over distribution of tickets on reserved seats for women. Kulsoom Nawaz had even called Kasuri, inviting her to join the PML-N, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah had also said in a statement that PTI did not acknowledge Kasuri’s services, for which the party would face consequences.
