The Sindh High Court has issued notices on Wednesday to the Sindh governor, chief secretary and secretary law on the application against the appointment of provincial ombudsman.
A citizen Yousaf Rajpar has filed an application in the SHC that the appointment of provincial ombudsman is illegal as the Sindh Assembly has passed a bill for his induction whereas according to the constitution legislation can not be carried out in the favour of single person.
The applicant requested the court to remove the provincial ombudsman from his post by declaring his appointment null and void. The applicant said that Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik was a retired police officer and giving him the judicial powers would be dangerous for the public.
