Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday declared the appointment of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem as illegal and unconstitutional.
A single bench of the IHC, comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, announced the verdict on a petition filed by FBR member Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed.
Earlier‚ on April 8, the court had stopped Hakeem from working as the FBR chairman.
