Islamic International University students on Tuesday staged a protest against postponed examinations, threatening to cordon off the Parliament House.

Details said that all papers were postponed due to 18 hours of continuous load shedding, in response to which protesting students blocked the Kashmir Highway, bringing long queues of vehicles on IJP road.

The university’s administration seemed helpless in controlling the protest, and load shedding continued despite the assistant commissioner’s assurances.

The students demanded the government to reduce load shedding for their future’s sake, as exams were extremely important.

They threatened to surround the Parliament House if their demands went unheard.
